Cooper River Bridge Run
On Saturday, April 5th my oldest kid and I participated in the Cooper River bridge 10K run. We had a blast! This was the first time that either of us had ever run 10K before. Our goal was finish the race without stopping or walking. Note, we consider running anything more than a fast walk. So jogging is considered a run. ;-) Well, we made it, without stopping or walking. It took us 1 hour 17 minutes to complete. Okay, I know this is a terrible time, but I do not care. I got to spend some quality time with my 11 year old kid and we had a great time. We have already decided to sign up for next year, and improve on our time. Maybe 1 hour or less next year. We will need to wait and see. Here is a snapshot of the race route, and a link to an interactive version.

Wow Mike! Congrats on the run. With all this exercise, your figure must be that of an 11 year old girl!
I have lost a lot of weight and hair in the last 6 months.
10k run is unthinkable to me. i can never do it unless i have a 11 year old and he/she can carry me. good to see you start blogging again. we lazy people don't do that anymore.
Hey Mike, Check out the project I just finished...you'd be amazed that I could pull something like that off! http://www.flickr.com/photos/coreyl/2468405761/sizes/o/
That is sweet! Your kid will really like that one. I like the built-in table and rock wall. How long did it take you to build?
Keep up the good work.
